Q. How do I send a Shoop?

A. First copy text, a website URL, or a file into your clipboard.  Next use the blue Shoop! arrow button at the top of the BlueShoop application to send a Shoop.  Alternatively, CTRL+. can be used to bring up the Shoop device selection screen.

Use CTRL+C then CTRL+. to quickly copy items into your clipboard and Shoop them to other machines.

Q. I have multiple computers running BlueShoop but they can’t see each other, why?

A. Sometimes after a computer has gone to sleep the Bluetooth™ functionality will not work properly when it wakes up.  Try restarting BlueShoop using the Restart button in the Help window.  Also, all machines that need to Shoop to each other must be within the range specified on their Bluetooth™ adapters.

Q. Why can’t I send files?

A. To be able to Shoop files to another computer your copy of BlueShoop must be licensed.  Also, only one file may be sent at a time, less than 25 MB.

Q. Why should I license my copy of BlueShoop?

A. A licensed copy of BlueShoop can Shoop files and perform Shoop Blasts (Shoop to multiple computers at the same time).  Note that any copy of BlueShoop can receive all types of Shoops.  Also, by licensing your copy of BlueShoop you will get priority support from HawkeSoft.

Q. I have Bluetooth™ embedded on my computer but BlueShoop won’t work, why?

A. For BlueShoop to work properly you must have the Microsoft Windows Bluetooth™ stack installed.  Many embedded Bluetooth™ devices ship with a third party stack.  Remove all third party Bluetooth™ stacks and then remove/re-install your Bluetooth™ device.  Allow the default Microsoft stack to be installed and BlueShoop should function normally.  Note that by removing third party stacks other Bluetooth™ functionality may become unusable.

Q. My computer doesn’t have Bluetooth™, how can I use BlueShoop?

A. HawkeSoft recommends purchasing a USB Bluetooth™ dongle from a reputable vendor such as www.amazon.com.  Make sure to install this dongle with the default Microsoft Bluetooth™ drivers so that BlueShoop will function normally.

Q. Can I use BlueShoop on OS X or Linux?

A. At this time BlueShoop is only supported on Windows XP SP2, Vista, and 7.

Q. Are discounts available for organizational purchases of BlueShoop licenses?

A. Yes, please contact us at sales@hawkesoft.net.

Q. Where are the files received by BlueShoop saved?

A. The files are located in the Documents\HawkeSoft\BlueShoop folder.

Q. How do I make sure only people I trust can Shoop files to me?

A. The first time you receive a Shoop from another computer you will be prompted to accept the incoming Shoop, or block the other computer.  This ensures you only receive Shoops from people you trust.  If you change your mind you can change your trust settings in the Options window.

Q. How do I receive priority support from HawkeSoft?
